Description
Chris Lundy, director of CLC Fire Alarms, is a Member of the Institution of Engineering & Technology (MIET) and has been in the Fire Alarm Engineering Industry for almost 40 years. Most of those years were spent at the helm of Apex Fire Ltd., organising and leading teams of sales engineers, commissioning engineers and service engineers in the design, supply & commissioning of small, medium & large fire alarm detection systems, suppression systems and emergency lighting systems.
Chris is a founder member of the Fire Engineering Systems Association (FESA) formed in 2004. FESA aims to encourage individuals and companies, involved in Fire Alarm Detection Systems, to lift and improve the standards & knowledge relating to the Industry. Since both small and large fire alarm detection systems are life saving systems, it is imperative that all service providers in the Industry study and revise their knowledge of the relevant Irish Standard (IS 3218- 2009) and understand the importance of keeping up with changes in technology & system design. Chris was part of the Irish Standards Working Group that developed IS3218 - 1989 and, for a period of time also, the IS 3218 - 2009 working group.
